I'm already seeing references out there to Bush as Hoover, and Obama as FDR ... the subtext being, Bush created the problems that Obama will inherit, and Obama can't be blamed for whatever negative condition is out there, particularly regarding the economy.
How long will that fly? The first hundred days? The first year? The first term?
I predict that, if things continue to go sour, you can count on hearings and/or prosecutions of Bush administration members for various "crimes."

Well the press will try to keep it floating for as long as possible, but almost no one in the general public is voting for specific Obama policies... they're voting on the nebulous idea that he represents HOPE and CHANGE. They're going to want to get that hope and/or change in pretty short order or there's going to be some pretty serious unrest I'm guessing.
Also, I see some of the pundits arguing that Bill Clinton raised taxes and we got a boom economy, so Obama should do the same. I HOPE he does that... surest way I can think of to guarantee a Republican takes back the White House in four years.
